An independent, personal workspace
Paulus
Lab.
A personal lab for systems,
software and experiments.
Small ideas. Careful work. Room to explore.
Explore the labA little less noise.
A little more understanding.
This is my space to build, test and make sense of things. I'm interested in how software fits together, how systems stay understandable, and how small tools can make everyday work better.
The lab is personal by design: a place for practical experiments, quiet iteration and notes worth keeping.
Things taking shape.
A few small explorations, right here in the lab.

Working principles
A growing set of reminders about making things understandable, maintainable and useful.
FROM THE NOTEBOOK
A few working principles.
Simple enough to remember.
Useful enough to return to.
01 Understand before adding
A new layer is easy to add and harder to remove. Start by understanding what is already there, then choose the smallest change that helps.
02 Keep the path back
Good experiments leave room to change your mind. Keep a clear baseline, make changes deliberately, and know how to return to a working state.
03 Let evidence decide
An elegant idea is a starting point. Try it, observe what actually happens, and keep the result honest — including the parts that did not work.
